Healing at Bathhouse

Men around the world are facing a growing crisis of disconnection—rising rates of anxiety, depression, compulsive behaviors, and sexual dysfunction, often fueled by isolation, shame, and the pressures of modern life. Within queer communities, these challenges can be even more complex, shaped by identity, stigma, and the search for belonging.

This talk reframes the bathhouse—often misunderstood—as an unlikely but powerful space for healing, connection, and self-discovery.

Through a deeply personal story of living with obsessive-compulsive disorder and navigating faith, sexuality, and mental health, Ben shares how working inside a bathhouse became part of his own journey toward compassion, embodiment, and recovery.

From Sex Venue to Wellness Ecosystem

Bathhouses have long served a clear and consistent purpose—providing a safe, private space for connection, exploration, and sex. That core business is not only valid, it’s essential. But in today’s cultural landscape, there is a growing opportunity to build on that foundation and evolve these venues into something more expansive.

As expectations around wellness, community, and belonging continue to shift, bathhouses are uniquely positioned to become multi-dimensional spaces that support not just physical connection, but emotional, social, and cultural engagement. This includes intentional programming, community-building initiatives, and experiences that increase retention, deepen loyalty, and expand revenue beyond traditional models.

This talk explores how operators can begin thinking in terms of a “wellness ecosystem”—one that integrates in-person experience with emerging opportunities like digital communities, creator-led events, and selective use of technology to enhance, not replace, human connection.

Content Creator Nights: Turning Community into Marketing

Influencer-driven marketing has been reshaping how brands grow—and bathhouses are uniquely positioned to tap into this shift. Content Creator Nights offer a new model: bringing creators into the space to produce content, build relationships, and amplify the brand through authentic, community-driven storytelling, and content.

This talk offers a behind-the-scenes look at how these events come together, with practical insights on recruiting and onboarding creators, and keeping them engaged.

As technology continues to evolve—including the rise of AI and its impact on digital content—this session also explores why real-world connection, presence, and community are becoming even more valuable.
